Tomasz Dąbrowski, co-author of the successes of the law firm Salans (Dentons since March 2013) and currently Managing Partner of Dentons Poland and CEE, will replace his compatriot Dariusz Oleszczuk as CEO of Dentons Europe.

Dariusz Oleszczuk has served as Global Managing Partner of Salans and then Dentons for three successful terms since 2005. Tomasz Dąbrowski, who has been running the law firm’s operations in Poland for the past six years now, will take over from the outgoing Dariusz Oleszczuk on December 31, 2013.

During a career spanning over 20 years Tomasz Dąbrowski has advised the largest multinational companies and handled transactions that deservedly earned him a place among the top experts in mergers and acquisitions, not just in Poland but Europe-wide. He has represented a wide range of multinationals, investment funds, banks and other institutional clients. The highlights of his career include advisory to the Canal+ Group in its merger with TVN S.A. worth €1.5 billion and representation of Vivendi during its dispute with Deutsche Telekom, which ended after more than 11 years with Vivendi receiving €1.25 billion in compensation. He also played a major role in advising CBRE Global Investors on Złote Tarasy Shopping Center in central Warsaw, an international joint venture worth €400 million.

Tomasz Dąbrowski said of his new appointment: “My objective was to create Poland’s most powerful, full-service law firm. With this goal accomplished, it is now time to take it up to the European level. I am very pleased to see this powerful need to expand our operations throughout Europe and welcome this opportunity to become the top law firm on the continent, a target we can achieve through the new Dentons brand and the global scale of our operations.”

Tomasz Dąbrowski joined the Warsaw office of Salans as a trainee lawyer in 1992 and went on to become an Associate, Partner (in 2000), and finally the Managing Partner of the Warsaw office (in 2006). In 2011 he became head of CEE and Co-Head of Corporate Europe, since renamed Dentons European Corporate Group. During his six years at the helm in Warsaw, the office tripled its profits and became the largest law firm in Poland and one of the most respected in the region.

Elliott Portnoy, Global CEO of Dentons, added: “Tomasz is an exceptional lawyer and inspiring leader, and I very much look forward to working closely with Tomasz and all of our colleagues in Dentons Europe as we build our new firm together in Europe and around the world.”
