Solaris Bus & Coach is beginning an expansion of its plant in Bolechowo near Poznan this August. The 11 mln EUR investment will increase the factory’s production capacity which now is over 1300 vehicles per year.

The project, developed by Eiffage Polska, will include the enlargement of the production hall by 7.500 square meters. Additionally, offices facilities will be extended by another 5.000 square meters. The company’s entrance will also be rebuilt.

"Thanks to this investment we will improve our production capacity and efficiency. The new production hall will be used for manufacturing the new Solaris Urbino, whose official premiere will take place at this year’s IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover", said PhD Dariusz Michalak, Solaris Deputy CEO. "We are now producing 1300 vehicles per year and this number is to be increased in the coming years", he adds.

The expansion which starts this August is due to be completed in second half of 2015. The 11 mln EUR project will be partially financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
